my favorite it is seafood but fresh water I like catfish the best. and also when we went to Canada we caught some pike, and some other people in the camp caught walley they were both fantastic!

crappies, trout, bream, catfish and a myriad of saltwater fish.
i know some people that can the gar. when fried like salmon patties, you can't tell the difference.

The tv show swamp pawn that comes on CMT had some guys cut the ribs out of drum and cut em up like pork ribs! They barbecued, fried,and sauteed buffalo ribs and all that tried it said they were excellent! YouTube it!
1. Catfish 2 bluegill 3 walleye 4 smallmouth 5 largemouth 6 crappie in that order.

Trout. Catfish. Crappie. Bluegill. Stripped bass. That's mainly out from around here.

Drum is not bad at all. It actually tastes just like redfish for those that go saltwater fishing. Just make sure you cut all the belly bones off when you filet it.

Freshwater stuff that I normally catch - my favorites are crappie, bream, bass, and white bass (in that order).
Catfish are OK sometimes, but I like the firmer meat of the fish above. Stripers and trout are mediocre after frozen, but I'll eat them fresh no problem.
Sauger and yellow perch are great when I can get them, but that's rare. I ate a grass carp once, and I wouldn't bother with that again (filleted through all the bones, put it in a pressure cooker, and made into "salmon" patties). Tasted ok, but not worth all that work.
I'll try anything once. On my list right now to try are silver carp (asian jumping carp) and chain pickerel.
I've had plenty of chances to try "rough" fish, but never tried it other than the grass carp. I might give drum a shot if I get a medium-small one this year.
