Went to Cumberland City today just to waste some time and see if I could catch anything. I wasn't expecting to catch any skipjack this early in the year but they were biting good. Made for a fun afternoon with light tackle.

I didn't catch any striper but the guy next to me caught two small ones. As Vanleer stated, it's right around an hour away from Nashville.

A white jig. Reeling it in as fast as I could and creating a lot of jerking motion.

Cool, where were you fishing?
I have fished there before, not sure what it's called but right by the big TVA plant?

By the big catwalk where people fish all the time.

That's where I was. I wasn't actually on the catwalk but on the bank next to it.

Cool, that's where I fished too.
I like being on the bank better than 20 feet above the water.

I went back in the summer and tageted catfish.
Didn't catch but a few but they were the perfect eating size.

What was wild is I fished on the side opposite the parking lot and when I walked down the road to the other side, when I went over the bridge you could see all the gar just chillin just below the surface.

No idea why we didn't catch more catfish.

I threw trying to get a stripe to bite too but no luck.

Probably gonna go there either this weekend or next, depending on whether or not I go to Gibson County Lake.
