Lets talk about the good part of hunting them. How do you cook them?

in a pan in butter. salt pepper and maybe garlic powder... or you can cook them a lot of ways like any mushroom.

this video I watched the other day, it is what really got me itching to go morel hunting again. They cook them up toward the end of the video, and it just plain made me hungry.

My kids love the smaller ones.

Here is a simple and quick way to cook them, and you can add some greens too like dandelion flowers and clover flowers!

We take the small one, dip them in pancake batter and deep fry them!

I cannot cook them fast enough.

You sir, are an evil young man. After seeing this picture, I have been craving these all day, knowing they won't be showing up for another month and a half to two months. Thanks, thanks alot. Why don't you just go ahead and tell bigfoot stories the night before the bow season opener also!

Are they in West TN? I never heard of them until I saw you post about them last year.

Yes they are in west tn. Most people in this half of the state don't know what they are or have never heard of them. I pick several every year.

Is there a market for them like ginseng, or is it all for personal consumption? Seems like most folks would have a hard time eating 200 mushrooms before they went bad, but maybe I'm wrong.

Are there any mushroom species that look similar to them but are toxic? My confidence level in picking mushrooms of any kind is very low \:\)
