Any of you guys ever hunted or hunt Big South Fork in Oneida, Huntsville area. My friends dad bought some property that backs up to the park. There are a lot of sign on his property and we have gotten lots of good big doe pics but was just wondering if there are some big bucks up there.

I've hunted Big South Fork, mainly the Bandy Creek area. The only decent bucks I've seen have been off the road at night!!

I know about 13 years ago there was at least one big deer there . I was 13 and it was one of the first times I hunted in my own spot by myself I was about 200 yards from the road and one of the biggest bucks I've seen in the woods to this day came by me about 50 yards . I was so nervous I couldn't get it in the scope . Never saw him again .

I used to hunt it.The hunting is good in pockets.Mostly around the old home places. And in some spots it just flat out sucks. As far as buck quality,I can't speak on that.Never did see any big ones.

there are hogs up there..... i think there are some good bucks in the area, but they are most likely weary as it is public land.

It may be public land but I will guarantee you 99% of it has never been touched by humans. BSF is pretty much like the rest of the public land in East TN. Stay off the 1% that is accesible and hunted hard and you will find deer if you are willing to put in the effort.
