Dang man....I wish I had known you were looking, I would have made you a heck of a deal on the same gun!

Affirmative. Blackthorn has their own brand of cleaner that they recommend, but any regular oil based smokeless powder cleaner will work, including Hoppes. You just need to make sure the barrel is nice and dry when you load the Blackhorn.

You'll like the gun. The ramrod is short, but the end twists out to extend about 4 more inches or so and that makes it long enough. You will want to get a slip on wooden palm saver to use with it though.

Yeah, i went and relooked at the ramrod this morning and unscrewed the extension. At first I thought I might have been missing something. I still gotta get back to wally world when I have time and get that trigger lock taken off of it.

Also, since muzzleloader opens next weekend, I am unsure if I will be able to use the BlackHorn 209 at this time, because I have read things online about needing a different breech plug to use it. Not sure though. This whole muzzleloader thing is all new to me.

If you got the quick release plug they recommend the replacement. My local dunhams carries the plug. I'm on the bandwagon of bh209 but haven't decided what bullet I'll shoot with my optima

I'm shooting a cva wolf as well. Try your stock breech plug before you buy the blackhorn brand. My gun has zero issues with the bh209 and factory breech plug. 100 grains (by volume) of bh209, 250 grain Barnes t-ez bullet, and the cci 209m is lights out in my gun.

awesome...so you never have any issues with it igniting? Only thing is I dont want to spend all the money on 209 powder only to find out it wont use it with a week until season. \:\/
