I have always wanted to try them. Growing up in South Alabama we didn't have them. I'm not a big mushroom fan, but just hearing folks rave about them I want to try em.

Where do you find them Catman, North slope, south slope, ridge top, hollow I would not have a clue where to look. Do we even have them in East tenn.

Where do you find them Catman, North slope, south slope, ridge top, hollow I would not have a clue where to look. Do we even have them in East tenn. I don't know about e.tn but I find them mostly in hardwoods on hill sides, I have found em in hollers and also ridge tops, north or south facing doesn't seem to matter much... You would think south facing would have earlier mushrooms but I found the earliest last year on a north facing slope... Maybe just the way it worked for me but I usually find them on hillsides regardless. Blacks usually come up first (the one in the pic) followed by whites/grays and yellows (the biggest). Good luck

We have plenty of them in east TN. I have a place that should be full of them this spring, if I can beat the hogs to them! I will take you along if you are up for the hike!
