I tried to google it Ruger but it was confusing...is Old Hickory over by Nashville? If not, in relations to Pall Mall, TN where is it?

Old Hickory Lake is east of downtown Nashville about 12 miles—it borders part of the eastern border of Davidson County. I'm thinking about the mid to lower part of Old Hickory just because of the proximity to I-65/I-40 for those out of towners and it has the best selection of picnic areas/parking. Specifically, Shutes Branch day-use area/boat ramp or Cedar Creek.

I know there are a couple of marinas up here and I will look into pontoon rental and see what I can find. I know it is done on Preist Lake, which is a possibilty as well as it is very close to Old Hickory and right beside I-40. That actually could be an idea for a few of those that don't have a boat, or a seat in a boat—get a few together and split the cost of a rental.

Fate Sanders Marina on Pearcy Priest has boat rentals including pontoons. It is also pretty easy access from I40 and I24.
Here is the link:

Actually, I was thinking a slightly more up river—Shutes Branch or Cedar Creek which is at the end of Saundersville Rd. The reason I'm thinking these spots is either has a good picnic area, it is more toward the middle of the lake in case someone wants to go upstream closer to the Power Plant, or down by the dam and ease/centrality of getting to via the Interstates.

I have a boat and room for an angler. Once you set the date I will check the family calendar and should be able to get up there.

May I add that mid march would be better than the end. I know a lot of folks will or may be taking a juvenile turkey hunting. Maybe the weekend of the 16th??

I'm good with March 16th. Everyone else check your calenders and let's see if that date is good for the largest number of us. Just respond yes or no on that date and let's go from there.

If someone has an open seat, I'll go, guide and share expenses. 3-16 works for me on either body of water.

March 16 is good for me, long as I request off work that day and nothing else comes up.
I really like fishing below the dam but I understand the main lake and picnic area would work better for most of us. Guess I better brush up on my lake fishing skills, I am used to the rivers.
Name the time and place, it should be as early in the A.M. as possible, as a full day fishing sure doesn't last as long as you think it will.
