Yep, that was a small meteor.

This asteroid is several MILES bigger in size.

The one over Moscow is estimated to have been about 50 feet in diameter...although there is really no way to know its dimensions since it was never identified and studied. It was a total surprise.

The one passing by the Earth today (Asteroid 2012 DA14) has been thoroughly studied and mapped. It is about 160ft in diameter on its major axis and 70 feet on its minor axis.

Of all of the stupid stuff you have done in life, a little meteor would make your butt pucker? \:D

There appears to be some discrepancy in dimensions here. I'll go with BamaProud on this one. He is a meteorologist, you know. \:\)

I was going by what NASA gave out 4 days ago, Monday, I went back to check after his post and they changed the size.

I never knew a weatherman also did the meteors and asteroids too.

I could care less what it is...if it flies in between earth and satellites...and has all of space to be flying around to hit something....it was way to close.

Todd...rocks from outer space smashing in and around us ain't how I want to check out from this planet
