saw the first birds of this year strutting this morning out in a field. there were 30 hens a few jakes one double bearded bird who didnt strut but 4 big gobs strutting. watched them for about 15 minutes with binocs. man i cant wait

anyone herd any gobbling yet? i hunt in mississippi also and season opens in a month here. i got up and went to listen this morning but didnt hear anything.

had to travel to Somerset, Ky for business on Tuesday and between London and Somerset, saw a large group with several strutters. First ones i have seen this year

Bring on the early breeding theories Its done over in my area and they are back in their winter flocks...  oh yeah, my birds did this year's breeding last spring, they are in winter flocks now until next spring. oh and the poults will be born at any time of year too.
