Bought this old cva pretty cheap,prob just hang it up but would like to shoot it a time or two, anything i should look out for?

With any old muzzle loader.....make sure its not loaded.

I'd suggest having a gunsmith that knows what he is doing shoot a proof load before putting it to your shoulder to shoot.

What wobbly said...
If you're leery about shooting it that first time, what I have done is to find a downed tree and after loading the gun, put the buttplate against a branch and strap the gun to the log. Tie a long string to the trigger, cap the gun, and stand behind a big enough tree that I could hide behind and pull the string. Didn't have a problem and shot the gun from then on with no uneasiness.

I gave $80 fot it-LOL,pretty happy with it, may strap it to the lead sled and try the string trick

wear eye pro tection when you shot it bad about caps busting may fly in eye

I just picked up a Spanish 45 cal Jukar Kentucky rifle for $50. Same rifle, just not CVA branded.
