None of that would apply to the FF, it mounts in between the stock and the receiver. If I am not mistaken, Layne's comments would apply because we are talking about a BPS. One cannot mount a "Speedbead" type sight between the stock and receiver of a BPS, or Mossberg for that matter, due to the "sliding safety" being in the way. Furthermore, if you look on Burris' website, they only mention Browning Maxxus (safety in trigger guard) as far as "Speedbead" type mounting goes. To my knowledge, you will have to go with a Weaver base mounted on top of the receiver to utilize one on a BPS. My .02

I was going to have it drilled for a Weaver 336 base and mount it that way. I wish i could mount it like the speed bead but that wont work as mentioned

If the BPS has a flat top, you can use the Marlin 336 mount for the fastfire. It sits lower than the weaver set up.
I have the FFII and the FFIII both mounted on Mossy pumps.
Burris has wonderful customer service. I dropped my gun and broke my FFII glass last year. I sent the sight in for repair along with a letter stating how it was my fault. They sent me a completely new sight.

Get the Browning base and if your gun is not already drilled to accept it have it done. I tried the cheaper base on my BPS turkey gun and it could not stand up to the high power turkey shells. It was warped after about six shots and getting worse with ever shot.
Ordered the Browning base and no problem holding zero/point of aim.

Do you have a picture of the browning base? I'm not sure I follow you.

Oh I see what your saying now. I don't need a full lenght base for the FF 3, I don't think anyway. I do like the looks of that one though

Get the 336 base for the fastfire. 2 screws 1/2" apart and your done. Sight screws directly to the base.
