Topps strips Pete Rose of all-time hit record on their baseball cards. Granted he hurt his chances of ever being in the HOF for gambling. But what he accomplished as a ball player on the field should not be taken away IMO.
FYI
Topps continues to have Barry Bonds as the all-time home run leader.

I remember whenI first moved down here from Ohio in 86 I could get his ball cards cheap and you could not touch them in Ohio (sure do hope my nephew still has his )

He broke the rules and gambled on baseball.
I agree he should have been thrown out of the game, if it was true and if they did that to everyone that got caught gambling on baseball.
To remove what he did from the books? I disagree with that.

Therein lies a big part of the problem. As rampant as gambling is among professional athletes, you can be guaranteed that he wasn't the first to bet on his own sport and won't be the last. Plus, he should be in the hall of fame, it's for accomplishments on the field, (or at least it should be!). It's not called the moral hall of fame, he didn't cheat to earn his accolades.

Pet rose may have been a tool off the field, but on the field, Charlie hustle was my hero.
I played 2nd base on every team I played for in the 1970s. When I wasn't playing, I was watching the reds play. Dad and I made several trips to Cincinnati to watch him play.
It doesn't matter what Major League Baseball does or what tops does, he was the best hitter, had 8 golden glove awards, and almost always placed in the top 25 in MVP voting, winning the NL MVP twice, back to back.
Compared to other alcoholics and womanizers and juicers still idolized in Major League Baseball, he was a choirboy.
