Several years ago when I was a supervisor at the bearing factory here in town, I had two single mother with one child each quite to live at home. I knew one pretty good and asked how can you give up a $14 dollar per hour job with pretty good insurance and stay at home? She had more money in her pocket at the end of the month from the government than she did working and paying babysitter and other bills and didn't have to do any work.

Yep.

She gets food stamps, WIC, housing, utility assistance, and child care assistance.

I work my [censored] off and get absolutely NOTHING from the government except higher taxes.

and if the miniumum wage goes up...we will see an increase in the price of everything...gas, groceries, everything. So the middle class gets hit even harder.

Get rid of miniumum wage and reduce government benefits and you will see some serious competition for jobs. Employers will end up with better workers who will be willing to compete for better wages...We need to create a sink or swim mentallity in this country. There are to many non swimmers who are comfortable sitting in their gov. provided floaties drinking cheap umbrella drinks in the 40oz cans.

I say hurray for the minimum wage being increased and I think it ought to start with our Washington politicians. Let's see how they fare first and if they can't then maybe they'll change the government's operational standards.

IMO, it's just another angle of Barry trying to run/control the economy.
Bring down the ones who "make too much", and advance the ones who "don't make enough". (social engineering)

Demonize & punish oil companies/corporations/etc. while propping up green energy/auto unions/etc.
The more he meddles the more he screws it up. They more he screws it up the more he meddles.
