Words just can't describe the tragedy of this incident....I too hope no one ever has to be subjected to such pain and torment as this man and his family have gone thru. \:\(

It is a tragedy. I love my children dearly, and cannot imagine them being taken away from me by some idiot fulfilling his drunken, selfish desires. And the justice system could help to avoid things like this if they would actually punish drunk drivers instead of letting them off so easily. There is vey little deterrent as of now. Make every case of drunk driving carry the penalty of attempted murder, as this story is a likely ending if a drunk starts driving.

I believe my actions given the circumstances would of been similar. I bet he gets off completely or with a slap on the wrist. Texans are different when it comes to things like that. There was a case not too long ago there where dude beat a guy to death after he came home and found an acquaintance banging her, she was under 14. Got off Scott free

Very sad story. But a "suspected" drunk driver is not a drunk driver as far as I know. Its a narrow dark road and what if the father had no lights on their vehicle and were in the middle of the road pushing it. And what if it was your child driving and lets say had 2 beers. They hit this car blocking the road on a dark curve with no way to avoid it. Your child is in the car bleeding and in shock and the other father walks up to your child and shoots them in the head. ( sounds like something from the Soprano's) Did your child deserve to get shot in the head because of 2 beers even though the accident may not be their fault. to many if's and buts in this accident to be calling this guy shooting someone justified.

I have a cousin that has been charged with DUI 14 times. He has spent his entire adult life in and out of jail. Never had a real job but worked here and there to get drunk. He wrecked one time and crippled his drunk brother for life. It is just a matter of time before he kills some innocent person. Some people need killing before they kill someone else.

I would've had a hard time restraining myself to one shot.
