It could be a Meet & Greet IN the West but FOR the West / Middle / East too

I've always thought Natchez Trace State Park would be a good meet and greet spot. Plenty of places to stay. Motel, lodge's, primitive cabins ,camping and RV hook ups.Good Food in the restaurant. Lots of stuff to do fishing, shooting range, and archery also.Easy access from the interstate.

DirtTrax I haven't been scouting or hunting much at Natchez Trace WMA the last few years. How are the Turkey doing ??A TnDeer meet n Greet with some Turkey hunting thrown in could make it a little more interesting.Pretty sure it is still open the same as State Wide Season.

I know the LBL early bow hunt has become a regular thing for many on TnDeer. A Natchez Trace Spring Turkey Hunt could be the same type of thing. Some could hunt, others meet and greet of course we can all eat.

I'll admit I have a selfish self serving motive for wanting Natchez Trace. I'm a caregiver these days and can't get to far from home. A hour drive and a call to the mom ma sitter and I'm good to go.

Birds are good but you have alot of pressure during season. I set up four mornings last year on the same bird just to watch him fly the other way and another hunter shoot him. It sucks but thats part of public land. I normally see several good birds during deer season when they are grouped up, ad during turkey season will hear several gobbling in the mornings. But they have clear cut several patches of pine and that has screwed up some of the good roosting spots I hunted.

3 things on my hunting bucket list. 1- Go deer hunting this year after missing all of last season due to health issues. 2- Learn to turkey hunt and call and try to kill my first turkey.(Been only 3 times with DA in 2010). 3- Learn about Natchez Trace as I was told it would be a good place to hunt by GRAMPS and where he was going to take me before we both fell on bad health.

My health is improving daily and it appears # 1 is covered. 2 and 3 though are not. I cannot hunt alone for deer because I cannot lift or drag what I may kill. That is why I got interested in turkeys just so I could keep hunting something I could do alone if I had no other choice. I can't run-n-gun them, but have missed so much hunting due to health, just being there and trying would make my day.

I'll try and make it wherever , but can't stay overnight. Natchez Trace would be a great way to help on all 3 above, but with help of the kind people here, so would anywhere else.
