Maybe effort should be made to change this law?

(b) (1) As it reads, it is unlawful to plan on defending one's self against a deadly attack by a criminal, i.e. this law protects the criminal element instead of the honest citizen.

(c) (1) Interpretation may be purely subjective by any law enforcement officer, as someone "could" be carrying their golf clubs for the purpose of going armed, therefore subject to arrest at any time, should these deadly weapons be present.

Any body got a billy stick on their boat? While you may use this "club" for the purpose of quietening a caught fish, others believe you have it for the purpose of going armed?

Or stop by a McDonald's on the way, and be seen with that folding knife in your pocket. Who's to say you were not going inside McDonald's with that folding knife in your pocket for the purpose of going armed? Isn't it usually purely subjective as to just what is your intent?

In a nation/state run by lawyers you will never win. This is all a sham, a slap in the face of liberty.

In most ways I love Tennessee, but the current guns laws seem backwards to me. Growing up where open carry was allowed without a permit and it was no big deal to see hunters lean thier rifles in the corner of a diner while eating lunch, I don't understand the thinking behind the thinking here. This in a state where conceal carry was against the law even.

..it's so far out of control now that I really worry if we'll ever find our way back now. \:\( We've already succombed to numerous restrictions of our 2nd A rights that the push is on to do away completely with this amendment, and it could very well happen imo.

This just adds fire to the ones wanting the gun control, So now they can say he may have had intent on hurting someone at this rally,
If he wanted to bring a loaded gun, he should have brought his pistol which he had a permit to carry.

Years back when a fellow told me he had a baseball bat to defend himself but added that he kept a glove and softball with the bat. So if LEO was to inquire, it would be used to play ball.

Maybe that guy should have done the same thing (in effect) by putting an orange plastic piece on the end of the barrel and telling everyone that he was about to go play in an Airsoft match...
