Well I found another 1187 it's also a premier but it has the vent rib barrel , gold trigger and engravings . Asking 650 , says it is in mint shape ,any thoughts ? the boy bought a new one for $650
my mistake. his is not the premier.

Me and my dad both have premier 1187s neither are engraved or have gold triggers. The original premiers did not. I paid 250 for mine but it had blue wear. Dad got his for 400 in great shape

He said it was a premier , blued/ wood , doesn't have engravings or gold trigger , .thanks for the replys .
Ask to have a pic of both sides of the receiver, If it is a premiere model, it will have the word "premiere" stamped on the right side between the trigger assembly stubs. The left side should have Remington 1187 engraved in a rolling banner inside the fancy engraced scroll work. The s/n will be on the left side between the trigger assembly studs. You could always have your local gun shop run the s/n to verify.
The plan Jane premier versions only have Remington 11-87 stamped on the left side and the word "premier" stamped below the ejection port on the right side.

I would find out for sure if it is a premier or not first; this will affect value.
If it is a premier in good shape, 600 - 650 might be a fair price with both barrels. These guns can vary a lot though.
I would have to agree here, it will all depend on the seller/condition and reason the gun is being sold. I paid @ $650 for mine 12-15yrs ago with the cantilevered rifled slug barrel, engraved and gold trigger. If you look around hard enough you can find them from $400-$700 range.
