Anyone have any idea how was their seen structured before? The percentage difference doesn't appear to be that far off from what I've seen of other northern/mid-western States that offer very little in the way of a firearms season.

Problem is they have a ton of deer and really need to thin the herd from what i remember when I was up there. it wasn't uncommon to see 50+ deer in one field.

They only had 1 week of gun and if I remember right 2 weeks of muzzleloader. One early season and then a week in January if I'm correct. The state has a ton of deer and I think this will male it better.
I don't understand te urban hunts being eliminated. Those hunts were bow only. Does that mean you can gun hunt those areas now ? If so. Looks like I will be planning a trip to Lake county for the gun opener next year.

OHIO IS A BOW HUNTERS DREAM, WITH ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF SHOTGUN AND MUZZLELOADING SEASON IS PART OF THE REASON THEY HAVE THE QAULITY OF BUCKS THAT THEY HAVE.I AM ON A LEASE IN SOUTHERN OHIO,AND WE HARVESTED 8 BUCKS OFF THE PROPERTY 3 0F THE BUCKS SCORED IN THE 140+ 1 BUCK IN THE MID 150+ AND 3 IN THE 130+ RANGE ALL WITH A BOW AND A 140+ BUCK WITH MUZZLELOADER. THATS NOT TO BAD FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF A HUNT CLUB

Illinois has been similar to this for many years.
I think they have about 10 gun days.
