For those of you who have read about it and never seen it, i just got through cutting open some hevi shot shells and this is how un-uniform and out of round this shot from em is. These were #5 shot and some shot in these shells were probably as big or bigger than #2's

I've known about their irregularity for years, and still don't understand how they produce such dense, uniform patterns. But they do.

The H-13 shot you buy for reloading.... can be gotten round & polished.... That is what was used in my Mauler loads... H-13 #6's.

Cool. The manufacturing process and quality control must be getting better...they seem to be far more uniformly spherical than what they were a few years ago. Might be hard to believe, but in the past seems like about 1/3rd of the pellets used to look like welding slag or something.

Hard to believe that at $5+ a shell they can't do better, but hey, the proof is in the pudding: Great patterns and stone cold killers!

I have also seen their odd shapes. But as good as they pattern I could care less what the bb's look like.
