I for sure wouldn't hunt in a camo blind on public land without putting orange on it somehow. I hunt on my own land but still I wear blaze orange even when shooting crows. Wouldn't even think about deer hunting without it. All land has boundaries and there is always a posibility of neighbors being out hunting at the same time.

The reason I brought this up is my neighbor has several of these blinds and it just hit me that if he has one that I don't know about, he could be right where I'm shooting and I'd never know it.

I wear it for sure, because once I shoot a deer what happens? You have to get out of the blind to retrieve it.

So exactly how many incidents do we have in this state or country of people being shot while in unmarked hunting ground blinds? I wasn't aware this was an "problem" than needed to be "fixed".

I believe in doing whatever is necessary to avoid the possibility. This is a step I take to keep it from becoming a problem. A little precaution goes a long way. Goodness knows we don't need any accidents happening to give the anti's fuel for their fire.

I saw a study had concluded that the reason for hunters being shot, even in full orange, is because the shooters' mind sees the movement but does not register the orange. Why put yourself in a position to be shot while zipping the door shut on your blind, etc?
That is why my blind has 1 square foot of orange on each side during ML or gun seasons. My wife don't to collect my life insurance just yet... I'm not done...

In Iowa it's a law during shotgun seasons you need 144 square inches of orange on each side of your blind. I use to safety pin some orange fabric to my tent blind but have 4 thin squares of wood I can slide into brackets during shotgun season.
