The anchor and I went to eat earlier tonight and the place was PACKED.

There was two couples, the women's mother and one set had a son about 9 or so I would guess.
The other had a girl that was probably 9 months old or so.

From what I could gather the mother of the two women was not happy with pretty much anything.
One husband sent his food back and said he didn't want anything.

The mother with the baby had to hold her the whole time and I could tell she was on the verge of losing it.

The baby was crying and she didn't bring a bottle (rookie mistake) and then I looked over and the mother of the older boy had a grilled cheese and she was cutting the crust off it. \:D

I looked at the wife and said, you ever done that?

Classic Little Man right there.
That and chicken nuggets was all he would eat for a few years. LOL

Sigh.... kinda wish he was still that age. \:\(

Geez........I sure do miss dirty diapers, chronic crying and constantly having to watch for sharp corners. \:D

I was at my Moms this afternoon. My nephews little boy just turned 1 today so we had a family party. Watching my nephew chase that young'en was like deja vous.

I never want to change dirty diapers again. Also, don't think I could survive my daughter's teenage years again!

Funny you should post this Ruger, I've been feeling kind of melancholy all day.
Bought my youngest son his first vehicle today.
I have 2 older kids, that are grown and have families of their own, but this is different somehow.
I guess it's the realization that in a few short years, they will ALL be grown up.
I'm torn between excitement, remembering my own first car, and sad that my babies are almost grown.

I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Good times go by way quickly, but I never miss "car seats" or all the extra stuff you carry when they are little.

Yep, I remember the days gone by. In fact, my son sent me this in a text message this morning, along with the picture:

"This picture could make me smile on the worst of days. Thanks for always being the best father a kid could ask for. Love you dad! "

Wow! Just kinda gets me, ya know. This was back in 1990. Many moons ago............

Reasons why we've always tried (sometimes overly hard) to ensure TAFKAP Jr. behaved himself in a restaurant. We've been lucky not to be discussed on an internet forum \:D But he's a good kid, and is about the least picky eater I know of. Plus, he behaves himself well in a restaurant.

My daughter and granddaughter are coming from CA for the long weekend. I still refuse to change diapers if I can avoid it.

We can all look back at our childrens' growing up with nostalgia. It's natural.

But let me tell you, empty nesting is GREAT!

Don't think I'll ever get to fully be an empty nester...I have four grown kids and five grandsons under the age of six! My sons and I still hunt and fish together but I sure miss it when they were smaller....here we are bustin' some bluegills on a farm pond in TN many years ago...

I feel like mine is growing up way to quick. She will be 3 in april and dang it has went by way to fast. The shape the world is in today makes me dread it even worse then I already would. I REALLY enjoy every step of a little one being around but at times I'd like to stop the days from going by so fast. I know a lot of you guys understand exactly what I'm talking about. I'm sure one day I'll miss the piece and quiet or atleast that's what I'm thinking today anyways.

Our 4 kids were 2 years apart from one another. Now they're grown and there's 6 grandkids. We have at least one of them daily for 4 days a week. What empty nest?????

Ruger...If you miss it that much you could always start over again, lol.
