My son, 24, has been on our auto ins policy since he turned 16. He pays his part and after 2 accident claims the past 3 years, his portion is high. Out of curiosity, I did an online quote with Geico, and was followed up by a rep. The quote were nearly identical and represent a significant savings. I wonder if anyone has any personal dealing with them? Thanks

Guy at work was just talking about Geico the other day. He was paying over 300 a month for 3 vehicles and just switched to a different company that saved him 150 bucks.

Geico does do some decent discounts for government employees. That being said, in my areas they are high. They spend millions on advertising and customers pay for that. I would continue to check around. One issue many folks have with bigger companies like that is customer service. I would not want to talk to somebody different everytime I needed something or had a question.

Out of curiosity I had them quote, I was with the good hands people, they were much higher ! Then I went to a local agent and had him shop. We have 3 vehicles plus home , he saved us $800 plus a year , was AAA insurance. but we had no accidents , and my few speeding tickets out of state apparently were never reported !

I have had geico car insurance for about 2 years. I have had no complaints so far. Only had 1 claim and it was very quick and good service.

There are always insurance companies that will low bid another one. The advice I ALWAYS give about insurance is to start first with your local brokerage firms. Price will nearly always be better, but service is their number one thing. If you have seen your insurance company on TV advertisements, you're paying too much. Use a local broker who will be your representative to/from/and AGAINST the insurance company should you ever need them.

We had Geico for about 3 years. Finally got tired of them raising our premiums every 6 months, with no tickets, wreckes, etc. Switched to AIG and saved 45%.

Note this was 90-93, so they may have changed.

Bingo, bingo, and bingo. I have found GEICO's rates to many times be cheaper, that being said, how do they pay for the multiple millions spent on advertising you have to wonder - right??? I'm sure there are exceptions, but my brother's experience and the majority of what I hear from others is that getting them to pay for claims can be difficult and once you do have a claim your rate sky rockets. My mom has had the same experience with AllState. GEICO insurace is kind of like ObamaCare; it's GREAT as long as you don't get sick ;\) .

i peronally do not have insurance with them however have had a claim through them. The were very nice to deal with. Paid me well for my vehicle loss and medical issues.. I was impressed enough to check on rates to switch but it is all about money with me and they wanted way to much vs my current company.
