Ammunition shortages tied to Homeland Security?

I saw where Homeland Security has ordered 20 million more rounds of ammunition.....could that be a back door method for the government to tie up acquisition to the masses for ammunition. I 'm still unable to get pistol ammo, and I wouldn't think the HS could buy up all the different calibers just to prevent gun owners from resupplying themselves, but one has to wonder based on the present administrations attempts to ban gun ownership or severely restrict our having certain weapons. So maybe this could be a way for them to make it harder for us to buy ammo. If they tie up manufacturers in fulfilling the HS order, it would seem like, we the people's orders would or could be put on the back burner, so to speak.

I understand the Gov. buys every year for all their agencys and this is just a normal buy

I do not know one way or the other but I do agree that it would be an easy way for big brother to stop us from getting ammo. Nothing would suprise me any more with our government......or lack there of.

I 'm still unable to get pistol ammo,
shotgun and handgun ammo has not been a problem. it's the .223/5.56 and .308/7.62x51 that is rare.

Actually, unless you are willing to pay double and triple regular retail, everything from 22LR up to 300 win Mag is unavailable unless you walk in when a shipment arrives. Part of the panic is the fear ammo purchases will be tracked, like what they are doing in New York State.
HSA is just one that has ordered waht appears to be huge shipments and you can't help but think it is aggravating an already bad situation. And government contracts are the first in line no matter what else is going on.

Manufacturers will always satisfy Guvment orders before others. Hopefully this situation will level off soon.
