Unfortunately the trend in many places is that laws become more permissive and promotes slob hunting. Then hunters wonder why folk think bad of us.

Many non/anti-hunter people already have this impression of us due to food plots—to them they see know difference, especially with the marketing used in the food plot industry.

It is also a hot topic in GA and NC.
Baiting for deer is legal in both those states.

I have to say that food plots, specifically planted for wild life and not for agriculture reasons, is baiting. Secondly, I do not have a huge problem with baiting but to me it shows a hunters in-experience and inability to scout and actually hunt. I have lived in NC and was allowed to bait on Camp Lejeune for a short time. The problem that they found was that since it was somewhat public property, there was no guarantee that you would be the only one sitting over "your" bait pile. This outraged some hunters and actually led to fights between hunters. This is the only problem that I personally see with baiting.

Baiting has absolutely nothing yo do with well or unwell you can hunt. And there's a huge difference between a food plot and baiting. And i say bait i think people will learn real quick that just because you bait doesnt mean deer. I think you have a better chance of killing a mature deer over not baiting then baiting. The people i think it'll benefit the most are the people that shoot anything. I for one will never bait. Tried it in ky didn't seem to help. But just because you bait doesn't mean you don't know what your doing. You couldn't be more wrong about that.

How many here have hunted the HUGE pine plantations in SC so far? Only me? I am PRO-bait for my favorite state in the country. Bait is an egde you almost have to have for those pine goats in december when you have thousands of acres of juvie pines.
