to apply for a doe tag you had to drive to the county of your choice, go to the courthouse and apply? I just came back from Bolivar, in Hardeman county, and as I drove by the courthouse, it brought back memories. I was a teenager, had to be back in the mid seventies, and applied. I got drawn, and it was like winning the lottery. Those was sure the good old days.

Not me. We didn't even have a season in many counties in this part of the state back then! The counties that did have a season did not have doe tags.

Hunted the since the 60s and dont remember that.
I did get drawn for the first doe hunt at Cheatham.

i remember when if you wanted to hunt deer in tennessee, you went to the mtns. west tenn hunters traveled to the east tennessee mtns to hunt. there were very few counties on this end of the state that even had deer, much less a season.

When I was a youngen all I can remember was my family rabbit or squirrel hunting. I can't recall ever seeing a Turkey or Deer in the woods. Maybe I was too loud and smelled. Lol
