How long is the wait for HCP??

Anyone have a rough idea how long it takes to get your background check processed and your handgun carry permit mailed to you?
I have completed the 8 hour course, waited 3 hours at the Murfreesboro Drivers license center for a 10 minute transaction and have got my fingerprints done today in Lebanon (20 min).......
I will be glad we I can carry legally. I don't think I will carry all the time but definately during bow season and when I am on my lease in Wilson County and when at certain boat ramps launching my boat. Some of the boat ramps seem pretty sketchy and isolated. Im sure other times as well, I'll just have to see.

And I'd expect it no sooner than 2 months. Esp as many people are taking classes right now.
Just curious are they still making folks have to show ss card in Murfreesboro.
My wife took her passport and safety certificate down there and was told she had to have ss card to get permit. I told her to go to franklin and try on her way home and they said no ss card was needed and her passport was fine... My wife's ss card is in our attic packed behind two bedrooms of crap Lol
I still haven't found where a as card is needed as any type of proof on the dos website...but the redhead at the DMV in the boro says its a new law.

I am from Virginia and was asking my dad about their carry permits. It is doen at the county courthouse with the clerk. If you have a dd-214 or taken a hunter safety course, it counts as the class. Half the cost of Tennessee for the permit and one year longer.

Too bad for your wife she got someone that was misinformed. I was there last Friday and all I had was my passport and they said that was fine.

Took approx. a year for the paper work, test, psychological test, PT, interview,and background. Took another 20 weeks in the academy.......

took mine about 6 weeks(2 years ago when I moved here), but thy are probably busier now.
