All these corn threads, and it's making me wonder. I sometimes bait game cams with corn, but I've heard different theories on the type of corn to use. The lady at the Co-Op says deer like whole kernel corn better. I've read elsewhere that whole kernel is harder to digest and to use only cracked corn.

And BSK told me to use only certified corn to help prevent deer and turkeys from suffering from the aflatoxins associated with "bad" corn. And others have said never to pile the corn up, to spread it around so the corn doesn't grow mold in a pile and harm the animals.

So what's the way to go? Whole or cracked, piled or spread, or maybe never bait your cam with corn?

If you're in KY the corn doesn't mold so it's ok to pile it up. In TN it molds when in piles. How's that? \:\)

In my spot it doesn't matter how you pile the corn or what corn you use, all you will get is dozens of coons \:D

Corn doesn't have time to rot in my neck of the woods.

I always spread it thin so it can air out and not hold moisture. And whole kernel corn. I also never put any out in the summer. Salt is all thats needed then.

I was using whole corn in my backdoor feeder. The deer were breaking the bank. It was running me about $100 every 6 days.
