One of my old neighbors has a PT145, and he loves it. It's hard to beat a 10+1 .45ACP that's still small enough to comfortably carry.
He's a former USMC pistol team shooter, so I consider his opinions on handguns to be Gospel truth.

I have a PT145 and so does my son. Both guns have been reliable and have had no issues.

If your looking at Taurus, I have a 27/7 .40 that I love to shoot and never had an issue with. I was concerned due to Taurus' reputation, but I got it fairly cheap and so far have been impressed.
Maybe 500rds through it and not a single misfire. I don;t think its as accurate at my Glock, but at 20m or less I hit well with either.
