My son will be 10 in March and it hit me last weekend he must take the hunters ed class before he can hunt turkeys so I started looking for classes. Unfortunately the ones remotely close to us are full but I was able to put my name on a waiting list for one in Lebanon and one in Donelson. If those don't open up do I have any other options? I know there are the online courses but I'd rather he physically be in a class. Either way don't want him to miss the juvenile turkey hunt because of it. He has a lifetime license if that matters.
Thanks!

You have the option of purchasing the Apprentice License (Type 012). It is a one time exemption for one year from date of purchase from the hunter education requirements. It requires your son to have an adult 21 years of age or older with him at all times when hunting. The adult must be able to take immediate control of the hunting weapon at all times.
That would get you through the 2013 seasons and would give you the option of getting on a local list for later in the year if you wish.

Understood, but the cost of gas to drive to another county for a class would likely be more than the AL.
