Earliest you've seen a fawn?

So I was on the phone with the wife the other day, and she had some deer standing in the road as she came around a curve. They ran off and then stopped for a second in a field that I have permission to hunt, so she got a pretty good look at them. She said that one of them was a baby, and when I asked she said that it had spots. 
So my question is this: which would be the most likely -
1. That it is in fact a very early fawn.
2. That it is a very late fawn that was born in early fall and hasn't lost its spots yet. Or,
3. That what she saw was probably a piebald and was mistaken for it being a fawn.
She did say that the "baby" was much smaller than the mature does it was with, but not the size of the newborn ones we see in the spring usually.
Also, there are two other does in the area that have some extra white on them (not a lot, but more than usual) - is the piebald trait something that is hereditary?

Many will probably disagree, but I firmly believe there is a small percentage of fawns born year round. I've saw way too much evidence not to think otherwise. My dad called me several years ago to come get a deer out of his driveway that had been hit. It was starting to lose its spots. Probably weighed 40lbs. I remember the exact day, because it was my birthday, march 17. I've saw very small fawns in Nov and Dec. I'm not saying it happens a lot, but it does happen. The old tale of "bucks can't breed in spring or summer" is pure bull.
The piebald question is a possibility, but most of the time the piebald will be a more irregular pattern than spots, but its possible.

Interesting...I'd be more inclined to think it was a very late fawn birth rather than an early fawn birth. That would just be my guess.

I don't recall seeing near as many early born fawns as I do late born fawns.

My Fathernlaw told me he seen a real young fawn a few weeks ago. I can't verify I didn't see it but he said it didn't look very old at all

I confiscated a fawn (about 15lbs) from a spotlighter, don't remember the year but it was a Friday, Nov 13. I have saw 2 pregnant does killed in Oct. I also picked up a road kill fawn in Dec a couple of years ago. It might have weighed 20lbs.

A guy I know sent me a picture a couple years ago.
It was of a doe his wife killed on opening day of bow season in TN.
She had a fully developed fawn, ready to drop any day inside her.
I thought that was strange.

Never seen one this early, but I've seen one that I'm pretty sure was born in early Oct.
