Went out this afternoon to go fishing. I got to the lake, and pulled out my 2 piece lightweight Berkley Lightning fishing rod that I kept stashed under the back seat. Only problem is, my 2 piece rod is now a 3 piece rod! It broke towards the top. This was my go-to rod for bream, crappie, trout and bass. If I went fishing, whether in TN or AR, it went with me. It's seen plenty of fish in it lifetime. Best of all, I only spent $1 for it at a yard sale!
As my dad would say, now I have to to Bass Pro and get a new one.

Yep it stinks to lose a go to rod. If it broke toward the tip, can you fix it? Glue on an eye? I realize it may be shorter but a tip should be cheaper than a new rod.....plus you get to keep ole' trusty!

Never thought about that. I might try fixing it, maybe putting an eye on. Thanks for the idea!

that sucks. I have an ugly stik that was given to me several years ago and it's my #1 go to rod for any fish from 4" shiners up to 30 pound carp. Right now I have an old shimano that Bowriter sent a year or two ago and have it spooled with 6 lb stren. I have other rods I use, especially for bait fishing (catfish and carp) and for bigger lures as well. but that one smaller ugly stik is my favorite and I hope it doesn't break anytime soon. Probably won't, it's an Ugly Stik...

Definatly some bad luck. Broke rods are never fun. But that may be fixed with just a new eye Ive had 2 ugly sticks break on me to date.
