Anyone else noticing an extra number of dead skunks on the roads? The buzzards wont even take them  seems like more than last year

Noticed alot here too.
But last month, I was told to kill the opossum around the house before it made it to our chicken house....So I got the little .22 and went out to kill it...it wasnt where they said it would be, but then I heard some leaves rustle...walked over to the area, and about 3 feet away from underneath a bush, came out a black and white tail...faced right at me........We both shot at the same time...Man that STUNK!!!!
I walked back in the house, with them asking, "did you get it" followed by "yuck, what's that smell" ....its funny now, but not at the time

No more than usual. But I did see my first live skunk cross the road infront of me while driving last Friday.

Yeah, the newest under-office resident skunk was around this evening during youth group. Smelled pretty musky out there as we were letting kids out. Guess I'll have to set up the live trap again.

I saw 8 ran over between Kodak and Morristown today. I asked one of the locals if they were rutting. According to him they are.
