I plan to be on the great MB prarie on those dates. Maybe I can ambush one of the big ones in velvet. The EHD outbreak up there three years ago has thinned the herd and made the bucks more visible for some reason.
My man up there said so far, it has been a somewhat mild winter and the deer herd looks great. He also said he had killed 26 coyotes in the last couple months.
He is suggesting I also get a bear tag since they have not killed a bear in a few years and there are some great color phase boars with some size on them. I just may do that.
It is lazy mans hunting at its' finest. Only hunt afternoons and much of that from the ground in lawn chairs in blinds. I can handle that.
