After watching ted nugent and the pig man shoot pigs from a chopper got me wondering if this was legal to do in tn not that I could afford it just curious

Under the landowner exception for hogs, you can use almost any means to kill them. This is a good question...

Its an expensive venture that needs huge tracts of open flat country. Don't think it would work very well in East Tn.

everybody talks about how smart hogs are and how they turn nocturnal when pressured. I don't see how hunting from a heli is so effective when you can hear the thing coming from a mile away?

From the federal side:
Airborne Hunting Act This Act, Public Law 92-159, approved November 18, 1971 (85 Stat. 480) and subsequently amended by P.L. 92-502, approved October 28, 1972 (86 Stat. 905) added to the Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956 a new section 13 (16 U.S.C. 742j-l), which is commonly referred to as the Airborne Hunting Act or Shooting from Aircraft Act, prohibits shooting or attempting to shoot or harrassing any bird, fish, or other animal from aircraft except for certain specified reasons, including protection of wildlife, livestock, and human life as authorized by a Federal or State issued license or permit. States authorized to issue permits are required to file reports with the Secretary of the Interior containing information on any permits issued.

From the state side:
70-4-109. Hunting from aircraft, watercraft or motor vehicles unlawful -- Exception for persons confined to wheelchairs -- Penalty.
(a) It is unlawful to chase, hunt, or kill any wild birds, wild animals or wild fowl in the state of Tennessee from any craft propelled by electric, gasoline, steam or sail power, or airplane or hydroplane or from any automobile or motor vehicle, unless otherwise provided by law, rule and regulation or by proclamation; provided, that under no circumstance shall this subsection (a) be construed as authorizing the legalization of hunting from an automobile or motor vehicle while under power.

Obama hunts them all the time up at Camp David. Wait, my bad, he uses drones, not regular aircraft or helicopters.
