more than likely they are "potato bugs" instead of lady bugs, I had the same problem about 10 years ago and was treating my house with a chemical designed for lady bugs, a friend showed me the difference in the two bugs, overall color and the dots on them, anyways I started treating my log cabin with "Demon TC", which is labeled for both inside and outside the home and my problem basically went away

Most likely what you have are Japanese lady beetles, not our native ladybugs. They are shaped the same and are the same size, but the majority of lady beetles tend to be orangish-brown and the ones in my area have very few if any spots. They congregate in huge numbers in the late fall on the sunny side of my house - literally it looks the the whole brick wall is moving. They can find the most miniscule crack to squeeze through. I have managed to keep most of them outside the past couple of years by killing them off with Demon sprayed on the outside wall and soffits, but a few years ago I had so many get in the walls and attic that I had to use the shop vac to suck up several hundred off of the ceiling in one room every evening all winter long (the wife was not a happy camper that winter!). I have had a few in the house this winter (10 or so every day to eliminate), but it hasn't been too bad.

A few years back, rented a cabin in Gatlinburg. Place was crawling with them. When I asked about spraying, the management said they couldnt, they were brought in to area to control another bug.

Pop-up camper is usually full of them, in the rolls and folds of the canvas when I open it up. Crazy looking for sure.

I have these now, started coming in just end of summer, they do this every year, when I moved in this house this past june, we found a lot of them when going through and cleaning and such, We still have them in the walls, we had thought they were gone until I started doing some construction work and painting, then they came out again. Did find out they are attracted to white and yellow for sure, guess what color my house is,,,,,guess this is why my front porch was coated with them.

A bright yellow shallow plastic pan filled with a clear poisonous liquid set where the wind won't ruffle the surface, preferably in the sun. Amazing how many bugs you'll be killing.
