I was looking at some slug barrels on line , it looks lint the cantilever on there slug barrels is just a piece that mounts to the same screws to hold on the rear site , if that true can u buy just that piece ? I got a rifled sight barrel slug barrel but rather have a cantilever . No I don't want to mount it to the receiver, cause I want to be able to swap a out the barrels .

My Hastings is either welded or soldered on, don't know about the Remington barrels.

The remington rifled barrel with the cantilever on it is one piece. I bought a scope mount for my 1187 that locks on via the roll pins. I thought it would be less than stable but so far it has been pretty solid.

Here are a few pics of a Factory Remmy barrel off my 1187 Premiere:

The first and third pic show the cantilever attached to a block that appears to be permenently fused to the barrel, the second pic shows the two screws that fasten the rail to that block. They are much larger than any sight base/mount screws I have ever seen.
I don't believe they use the same holes or location for the cantilever as they do for the rear sight.
Not sure if your gun is an 1187 or 870, or an older 1100. This barrel is for sale and fits any 1187 model ONLY. Will not interchange with an 1100.
