For me if I was a recruit ...the forte of Bama..winning and having so much depth. That would be a negative. It's great they are such a power house but you may be able to play when you are a junior. And don't think for a minute ole Saban would drop you for a better recruit in a minute. Not taking anything at all away from him or the program. They are indeed awesome. But it just wouldn't be for me.
I'd rather play as a JR, and be one of the best in the country at my position, because i have worked harder than anyone else to be there, then go play somewhere i get to step on the field day one, and not be pushed.
As someone who played college athletics, if you are not terrified that you are going to lose your job, you aren't going to push yourself to the limit.
That's just me though.

eightpointer, I think it would depend on the player. There aren't that many freshmen that can play a lot on title-type teams. The guys that are good enough know it, as does everyone else. Teams like Alabama are full of future NFL players or players that just miss being good enough. I think the mindset of a college player has to be either all about football or go somewhere for a good education and play football, too, just in case.

I like how you guys will defend a comment about Saban leaving but don't have anything to say about being fairweather fans.  College football always runs in cycles. So if you think Alabama is gonna stay on top forever then you need to keep on dreamin. I've always been told the bigger you are, the harder you fall. Alabama is as big as anybody ever has been right now so they will fall hard. At least thats what I'm hoping for.
