It's ironic that the city council is all up in arms about a former slave owner. A large percentage of inner city blacks are still slaves...slaves to the politicians they vote for. They have no desire to educate their constituents...it's in their best interest to keep them poor,uneducated and dependent on government handouts.
Slavery is alive and thriving in Memphis,TN.
JMHO...YMMV

I think it's US who are the slaves.
Who is working and having the fruits of their labors seized and given to the "Royals"? If anything they are just expanding their area of influence with the "army" of political correctness and the sword of "Racism".
They are non-contributing, political force and we, the white, Christian, worker are the ones who are ignored, looked down on and frequently mugged for more taxes for the "King".
If anyone is a slave, it's the middle class worker of this country.

The name Martin Luther King denotes racial strife to me. I object to that. I think we should change the name of the Lorraine Hotel to The John Wayne Hilton or something along those lines or would that be racist?

One guy on Facebook basically compared NBF to Hitler. He of course is all for re-naming the park. He said (censored) NBF and Jefferson Davis. He said something to the effect he just wanted to piss off the history revisionist and the Confederate apologists.
This coming from a white college guy.

Great... now the KKK is announcing a protest rally. Reportedly, "the largest [Klan] rally Memphis, Tennessee, has ever seen."
I'm sure all 9 of them will show up.

the last rally I remember was in the mid to late 90's, and I recall a bunch of riots at the site.
I don't understand why people find the need to egg these Yankees on. Stay home, ignore them, and nothing will happen. They're just a bunch of unemployed Yankees from Michigan and Indiana anyway.

The KKK can come to town and hang with with another hate group identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center...The Nation of Islam.
They sell fruit and hand out their newsletters on street corners here in Memphis and nothing is ever mentioned about them being a certified hate group...mention the Klan and all He!! breaks loose.
But they be white...LoL
