Just an update to say I shot 15 rnds a couple weeks ago with the Hornady 100 gr plinker-type bullets. Used H110 and 5 rnds each of 14.5,15.0, and 15.5 gr. The 14.5 gr was the slightly better load for my rifle, but I did have two jam on me. Just a slight pull back of the bolt and the cartridge popped up and went on onto the chamber tho. No jam on the 5 rnds loaded with 15 gr, just the other two loads, if that might be a factor.

One of the things I have found out about reloading for the 30cal. is the cases have to be the right size not to long and not to short. They head space on the case.

I had forgot that Hornady made a similar bullet to the Speer that is more or less designed around the 30 Carbine. In normal times, you would buy a box of each and see which worked best for you but with supply like it is now, you take what you can get. This is the Speer I have used:
http://www.speer-bullets.com/ballistics/detail.aspx?id=78

I've never loaded the Hornady. Speer also makes a flat-nose jacketed hollow point that might feed in a carbine. Unless you are trying to hunt coyotes or something with it and need the expansion there's not much use in bothering with them though. Again unless that's all you can get.

H110 under that Hornady bullet should be a match made in heaven.

My carbine has an anoying habit of whacking the shooter on the forhead with practically every ejected case. Rather than try to fix it, I just bought a clip on brass deflector.

I've had several black streaks on my forehead after shooting mine as well. ;\)
