Having turkeys come in and hang up beyond gun range is just part of turkey hunting. How many have double teamed them with a caller dropping back away from the bird while the shooter set up closer to him?

Very proven method...another thing you can do is have caller walk off calling to make gobbler think hens are leaving...

I've done this a few times. I know it will work, but it never has for me \:\) .

I have tried this several times, althought it has never worked, I know that it will work and I will always try if the oppurtunity comes.

nothing is for sure in turkey hunting though

I'm always hunting by myself so I can't double team a bird. I will call going away and then sneak back in closer without calling and get set up. It's worked a few times.

The only turkey bird i have ever killed this is how we called.

we doubled up that day. 1 caller, 2 hunters.

I rarely hunt by myself anymore,so we use this all the time with varied results. I have found that if the bird isn't coming in,he isn't coming in,no matter how realistic you make it.

me and my turkey hunting buddy have been hunting together for about 6 or 7 years, we were roomates in college and one year killed 6 birds in 6 hunts, we think alike and alternate birds, i usually set up around 15 yards behind him when a bird is hung up our favortie tactic is to scratch leaves seems to bring them in with soft purrs and clucks

Two people hunting together brings many deadly options into the equation of killing a hung up bird. We use walkie talkies, comes in very handy on birds that get smart.
