Good to see I'm not the only one having problems tonight. Got a toilet I'm ready to throw in the yard.

It's got some kind of funny looking float that cuts off the water. It's not the normal ball float. This one has a sleeve like thing that rises with the water and is suppose to stop the water flow. It's not working right. It flows right on after it hits full for probably 20 seconds. Of course I also knocked the little clip out that is suppose to keep it from shifting right to left. With that clip gone it will spin right and never stop flowing. Cheap china made crap. I hate plumbing.

That clip attaches to the arm/rod and dictates what level it stops at.

The little red/pink clip? It's about the size of your fingernail? Kinda looks like the rear sight on a pistol? Before it came off the floater and sleeve wouldn't move. Now that it's gone, it will spin to the right. When you spin it right it will slide up the shaft.

I thought the screw on top that works the sleeve up and down would set the level you want the bowl to fill to.

No way I can get my hands down in there to put it back together. Tie wraps and duct tape to the rescue! LOL

IF so, you squeeze the clip together to slide the float up and down the shaft/rod. When you release it stays put and that is level of water.

If more or less is needed, you slide it up or down to achieve that water level.

That's it... I hate that thing. I can't get my hand in there to put the clip back on. I'm just hoping that the water pressure doesn't spin it to the right and it go flying upwards. The water would never cut off then.

Time to call a plumber.

plumbing is designed for people with 15 joints in their arms and 5 joints in their neck.
