Sure they do. R&D tax credits have been used by corporations for years. Look it up.

You talking about tax deductions?
I'm talking about Subsidies.

They are not even close to the same thing. Every business writes off expenses, not every business receives tax dollars.

Definition of 'Subsidy'
A benefit given by the government to groups or individuals usually in the form of a cash payment or tax reduction. The subsidy is usually given to remove some type of burden and is often considered to be in the interest of the public.

They are the one and the same:-) Just depends on which side of the fence you are on. Remember when Bush sent out the checks to every taxpayer...was that not a subsidy? Did you send yours back? :-)

Farm subsidies are wrong. Every sector of our nation that is "subsidized" by the government is affected and eventually corrupted.

There is a difference between a subsidy, a refund, a tax credit, and a tax deduction. So, no, if Bush saw fit to send some of my money back that year I didn't send it back or feel guilty.

A refund check in no way compares to an ethanol subsidy, a payment to take farmland out of production, crop insurance subsidies, or any of the other pay outs that farmers now expect.

Just checking in as I pass through.......
Sorta like me (tax dollars) paying for milk that is poured out, dairy cattle slaughtered, and grain fields plowed under, while we have thousands of children on the verge of starvation.
That's how I see subsidies.......

Gee. Thanks for the link. I had no idea that keeping your own money was the same thing as getting some of someone else's.

Do you think that farmers don't pay taxes? Or are you just stirring the pot?

Yet, EVERYONE took it when the government offered If the IRS gave a tax deduction, subsidy, tax credit, or gift for being a TNDEER member, I seriously doubt anyone on here would refuse it.

I see welfare as money given to people who don't work and don't pay taxes. Farmers do work and pay lots of taxes.
