I LOVED the commercial and I know first hand the work and lifestyle as well as the sacrifice farmers make.
But there is a lot of truth in the "Welfare" comment also. Face it guys, there is 'Big Farm" and it's a HUGE Washington lobby.
Who do you REALLY think is the behind the Ethanol mess. The Corn Farmers lobby, that's who.
Farming is America. And it CAN survive without tax payers subsidies and political influence.
There's no sense is arguing over this. Both sides are speaking the truth.

Times have changed since 1978 when the speech originated. Politics, government, and farming have all changed.
The commercial was awesome, the message was tainted due to the product being endorsed ---> DODGE.
I disagree some things have change while many remain the same. The message holds the same meaning if not more today than in 78. also Dodge, i think went out of thier way to not be the spotlight in the ad. Like i said, you wont find many if any company this day and time that would risk even mentioning "God" and for sure not like was done in this ad. My hats off to Dodge for doing so. I prefer to give credit where credit is due, when its wrong, but also when its right

If somebody blinked at the wrong time, they'd not even known it was a Dodge truck commercial. I thought it was done with taste and was pleasantly surprised to see something on current TV that supported values and decency.

Cargill, Monsanto and Dupont are not in it for the love of country
Neither are NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, Remington, Savage, Bushmaster, or any other corporation or business in the USA.
Even TNDEER charges for classifieds to help with the cost of running a website:-)

If you guys are going to play the bail out card, the way I see it is you have two choices. Either buy a Ford or a good horse. Me personally, I would hands down rather have a good horse.
