Back in November I purchased 45 acres in Hardin county primarily for hunting. Maybe eventually I'll retire out there, but for now it will be a weekend place and my place to hunt deer and turkey.

Last week Al Pollock from TWRA came out and walked my property with me to give me some ideas on how I can improve it. Overall he said I have sufficient variety of hard mast trees and cover to suffice the deer. Knowing I want to put a couple of small food plot on top of the ridge we picked a couple of spots that would work.

But the problem is the hill slopes of getting up and down is pretty steep. Like Al said, going up would be ok with my 4WD John Deere, but heading down may not be a wise decision.

So this long winded explanation to this question; do any of you guys know of someone that can come out and give me an idea of how much it would cost to put a road in so I can get up and down safely?

I don't know I can afford to do this right now, but until I know the cost I can't plan accordingly. That is the reason for my previous post about no-till plots.

Wow if it would be hard to come down the hillside in a 4x4 ATV it must be some more steep.
That said if someone local with dozer and track hoe would do it for you they could also clear food plots and you might get a very reasonable price or not, then the cost of gravel is not cheap.
Just talking......

Sorry I should have clarified, the 4wd is my tractor, not atv. I don't have an atv. Maybe I should get one with attachments. It may be cheaper than a road.

Is there any timber to cut to make way for the food plots. If so the timber company will cut your road.

Hiring a dozer man is the best money I've ever spent on my land. He can do more work in an hour than I could in a week. But get a good one. I 've seen them do things on them that no way in he// i would
