I'll go against everyone else. I use bait and a cam in a heavy racoon area. And yet, over 97% of my pics are of deer. I mount my camera HIGH. Dern near eye level, aiming slightly lower than level. About 15-20 feet from bait. I have literally 15 pics of coons from over 1,0000. I don't get squirrels, 2 of a groundhog, but you take your chances.

Coons aren't a bad thing. They are wiley bandits. They have and leave scent, and I swear if I see coons early, I get my game face on, cause I feel deer are a coming.

OK OK I GET the point about shooting the coons. but what about "AIMING" the camera? Will bringing the picture area "UP" help any or should I try something else?

Once I learned last year about the relatively unknown and unappreciated dangers of using corn at camera stations, I stopped, and so did the coon pics. You'll seldom get a coon pic without corn. And I believe you'll get more older buck pics without corn.

IMO, feeding corn in Tennessee is just a bad idea.
