Not another Y2K...if you have it and they want it .You have a big target on your back.
You have to learn to survive off the land and utilize what resources you have.
Do your homework ..what is edible and what you can use for medicine ect.
Actually, I've been doing quite a bit of homework. Unlike y2k, we now have a dictator bent on destroying this nation. You might end up a target, but that's what your guns are for. IMO, you won't be able to live off the land for long. Wild game will be killed off pretty fast, or go nocturnal. And, roaming the countryside looking for game could get you ambushed by armed gangs. My plan would be to join up with like minded people, and stand guard in shifts. Hide food and supplies in several different areas, and fend off the unprepared entitlement crowd.

As far as medical supplies go, a good trauma kit has most of what you need with room to put a few other items. With me being in the military I will not be able to just "bug out" if something went down but I do have a good backpack with essential supplies for my wife.

I believe there is a difference between being a prepper and being a person who is self-reliant. A self reliant person will, by nature, be prepared for what may come. However, not all preppers are self-reliant.
Theres a difference, but if the worst happens both types will have the upper hand over those who live check-to-check and have 4-5 days of food (at most) stored in their homes.

Just remember, if the SHTF you can't carry much food with you, and more than likely you will have to leave your home. How much food can you carry around the block..... much less miles....

Got some stuff to last a while....I do gotta say I was scanning the ol tv an came across the show doomsday preppers and the show was kinda amusing....a little extreme to me..but who knows they might be right..but probally not.
