For turkeys I suppose your right. I'm just thinking about my buddies that pay nearly $25 per box for 10 gauge duck loads and shoot 2 cases of them. The weight of the gun is more than enough to make me not want to tote one for turkeys.

Oh yea steel is high but dont they carry bigger payloads? I honestly don't know. Ive got some 10 gauge steel BB but i found a guy selling it for $10 a box and i knew for that price i could shoot crows and squirrels, and reload the shells. I don't waterfowl hunt

Same here. This is exactly why I used a 10 gauge for one season ONLY. Toting it fully loaded with four shells (12lbs) up and down ridges and hollers of middle TN was no fun to me. I was in my early 20s at the time and in great physical shape, but still didn't care for the 10 gauge. I like to cover a lot of ground when turkey hunting, thus shorter and lighter is my preference. It did throw a great pattern and it would reach out there and touch one if you needed it to, but the extra length, extra weight and the fact that I rarely shot over 40 yards made in a no go for me. As with most things, to each their own.

With NEF it doesn't matter they will both stomp upy in the ground. I have owened both, I know, and they are both heavy.

Wow...a 10 gauge with 3.5 inch shells!!! You guys must go after some pretty big turkeys to need that much fire power.
