I've built many houses that I've installed the electric tankless water heaters in but from what I can tell the ones I've had the gas tankless water heaters installed in do a much better job of heating the water.

I have used both in industrial settings at work. The gas version is a lot quicker and has a lot less problems.

Thanks guys. If I went the tankless route I will for sure go with gas. The biggest thing I was looking at was how much space they take up or lack there of.

I used to manage a gym with gas tankless heaters for the showers. You never run out of hot water, but it did take a long time to heat the water up. Not sure if that was just my gym or nature of the beast on a tankless heater. But I would definately recommend them.

They are really nice.
When my wife and I were going to buy our tankless they told us make sure we have a certain size gas meter (I think minimum could be 2" meter) and 1" gas line (we had 3/4" and we didn't get enough BTU's) going to the heater so it could put out minimum 180,000 BTU's. Then we got a gas reducer to because we were pushing out 225,000 BTU's to take it down to 200,000 BTU's.

More complicated then I thought it was going to be but worth it.

Ma & Pa TAFKAP put one in a couple years ago, and I haven't heard the first complaint out of them.

Much less than the previous water heater occupant.

I concur here. I lived in a house that had a tankless gas water heater. Once it got warm, (about a minute and half to two minutes in this case) it was wonderful. The water had to travel the distance of the house and that was a lot of pipe for it to warm up.
