Glad I'm not crazy. My 4 year old Moultries and Wildviews last longer than the WGI

I bought one in place of my Moultrie M80 that got stolen. Had it out as a decoy for almost a month with a Moultrie up in a tree watching it. I had almost 200 pictures on the Moultrie and only 12 on the WGI, which not a single animal in the picture. And no, the thieves wouldn't even take it. I guess they've had bad luck with them also!

I've never had much of a problem with the camera and when I did they sent me a new one pretty fast

I've only bought one, and it was a dud out of the box (produced 100% white-out pictures).
I bought a Moultrie 2 years ago after taking the WGI camera back, and had no problems with that one.
I realize they would have replaced the camera, but here's my philosophy:
If the failure rate is that high, it means that there's a good lieklihood of me showing up to a camera that was SUPPOSED to be a key monitoring tool and finding out that I have zero information. I decided that the cost savings of 40-50 bucks (tops) pales in comparison to the extra trips/time spent dealing with the failures of the cheaper camera.
Sometimes I would an hour and 15 minutes to my hunting spot for the primary purpose of checking the camera and squirrel hunting. If even one of those trips came back with lost/unusable data, then one could argue that time and money was wasted. It doesn't take long to justify the higher quality camera prices with just a bit of gasoline savings.

. . . . . the cost savings of 40-50 bucks (tops) pales in comparison to the extra trips/time spent dealing with the failures of the cheaper camera. . . . . . It doesn't take long to justify the higher quality camera prices with just a bit of gasoline savings. I don't know why more users haven't come to this same conclusion. And this doesn't even count your time, which is a terrible thing to waste messing with dysfunctional cameras.
For a new user, I highly recommend starting out with a traditional white-flash homebrew, which will provide you with reliability and lasting value, not to mention giving you a real standard for comparison to everything else out there.
