Need to watch this video. I am having these problems now. No real damage yet but I'm still having problems after having my dpf cleaned last week. $1,000.00 to have it cleaned and your owners manual says it needs to be cleaned or replaced (new one is 1,500.00-2,300.00 for the part) at 120k and 240k. I did not know this. I'm looking into getting the dpf delete, egr delete and programmer for mine.

Dump it and straight pipe your exhaust your truck while thank you, the egts will drop, and it will improve mph's slightly. Egr delete is great, and the tuner while shut the code of from them and you'll notice a big difference in your truck. Weather you want performance or just a good towing truck you'll be happy.

I see it as a win-win situation for me delete the stuff that is giving me problems and get better horsepower and fuel mileage for the same cost as the new part.

Don't get too wild with it our you will be blowing head gaskets and need to do the head bolt replacement.... I'd do it anyway....

I believe I read in this months Diesel Power mag, that if the truck has low mileage, you can replace them one at a time without having to take the head off.... start from the middle out.

I read replacing the headbolts with studs is one of the best changes you can make to the 6. series powerstrokes.

I don't personally own a 6.4 but I know several people that do, and most of them have deleted it and chipped it and had a lot of success with it. better mpgs better power win win I think. I do plan on getting one by the summer though looking forward to it!

Spartan is the best tuner for the 6.4 and they'll customize it for you. Head gaskets aren't as a big problem as leaking radiators in 6.4's, however too much boost in hp will create one. Minor and inexpensive changes to the 6.4 make huge changes and benefits.

Better hurry tho !! EPA is cracking down on tuner builders and if not mistaken have already fined "Edge" and they r refunding $ to those who have bought.

But yes I do agree with all the other post about you loving your truck and ur truck loving you after deleting !!! I wanna do mine (12' ram dually, 6.7 HO) so bad I cant hardly stand it but dont want to void the warranty with only 2200 miles on it \:\(

Keep us informed on how it goes please. Good luck

Don't know about the fines.... haven't heard that yet.

But I do know thanks to Barry and his "green" thumb.... the newer diesel trucks will have to start adding a fluid to every tank of fuel to cut down on emissions... The brand new diesel trucks are supposed to have an onboard addative tank you have to keep full for the same purpose.

It all sucks. On every new diesel that has it. They are gutless because of it and the "state of the art" technology along with the craftsmanship is crap. I leave work everyday with a headache trying to keep Internationals "Advanced Diesel Technology" on the road. They can not be fixed. It's like cutting into a small spot of cancer and then it just snowballs. It's all absolute junk. I would get every piece of that EPA garbage off my truck and then and only then you might have a shot at having a dependable truck.

All diesels from here on out will have the "UREA", Dodge was the only one who did not have it on the new trucks but from 2013 on will have it hence the reason I bought a 12'.
My wifes 08' 6.4 stroker has "dpf" and her mom's 12' 6.7 stroker has the urea (sp)
It all sucks no matter what as far as im concerned.

I spoke with my go to parts guy at napa to see if he could get the spartan tuner-delete kit. He made some phone calls and called me back. Said he could not get the spartan tuner due to the EPA. He said they are known for getting sells records from companies that have sold the delete kit and tracking people down and giving fines for using the delete kit for on road applications. 2,500.00. Don't know how true that is.

Out of all of the engines manufactured by International for Ford, the 7.3 was and is by far the best.

My company (me) have bought 6 6.0's and one 6.4 (my truck).

Done with Ford.

My truck is currently at Jarnigan's with the engine out and cab off. Replacing radiator, front engine cover, and rear main seal. Truck has been babied and never pulled anything heavier than a 4 wheeler.

12 mpg.

All my 6.0's have had 2-4K worth of work on them.

Looking for replacements now. With the price of diesel, gas is looking better.
